Look no further than Rubik's TouchCube, the first completely electronic, solvable Rubik's Cube with touch sensor technology, a motion-detecting accelerometer and colored lights on all six sides.
The product ($149.99) will light up the shelves over at Best Buy stores October 18 with additional distribution online at Amazon.com, BestBuy.com and Hammacher.com.
Puzzled by how it works? The product mimics the movements of the original 3x3 cube - swipe a finger across three squares and the lights will follow "turning" a side of the cube; make cross swipe to turn the top of the cube a quarter turn. The motion-detecting accelerometer only recognizes movements made on the top of the cube, so that a player's fingers won't move the lights on the other sides when holding it.
Other cool features: a built-in solver; internal memory so players can resume play anytime and modern or classic sound effects.
